Overview of Jay at work

The Creator Archetype
Primary trait: realistic secondary trait: artistic
Creators constantly use their imagination and like creating physical manifestations of their work. They are very content when they are able to build, assemble or craft something with their own artistic flair. They are attracted to peculiarities in their surroundings. Creators are body-oriented and inventive in the way they solve practical problems.

The people that can have the biggest impact of all are the ones we call “Smart Creatives”. These are the product folk who combine technical knowledge, business expertise, and creativity. When you put today’s technology tools in their hands and give them lots of freedom they can do amazing things, amazingly fast.
Eric Schmidt
Executive Chairman, Google
Things they’re good at
Creators are a very rare archetype and make up less than 1% of the population. Creators tend to be creative types with a proclivity for more hands-on, physical tasks. Though their realistic side typically means that they cool to radical ideas and prefer stable environments, their artistic side craves a non-conforming and imaginative perspective. This unique combination means that they feel very comfortable coming up with creative solutions to problems that others may not think of. Their passion for expression and abstractions paired with their self-controlled and stable side means that they have an exceptional ability create work that is both practical and beautiful.
Things they can watch out for
Both functions of the Creator’s archetype typically makes them the type of person who likes to get things done and see their ideas fruition into real-world material or objects. This sometimes means that they are not as in tune with the social side of their personalities like persuading or influencing others. The Creator’s inclination toward conceptualizing and construction, which centers around the general building side of work, lends itself well within an organization set up to support such projects.

Jason’s leadership skills would make him a valuable asset to any team. As a department head, Jason made a great boss. Rather than secluding himself in a corner office he chose to sit in the development area with the rest of us, making him approachable and earning the respect of his department.

I worked with Jay to produce a charitable Coding Camp for kids that was a huge success. He was great to work with on every level, from getting the big picture vision, to solving problems on the fly. He was a fantastic team member I would highly recommend working with him.

I worked alongside Jay at Starnet, during that time I saw Jay at work and he is impressive. To say Jay is detail oriented is an understatement. Jay worked hard to help bring the vision to life, he made every effort to make sure there was no ambiguity in his designs. To see a detailed mock up of what Jay had in mind was commonplace. Jay strives for excellence in everything he does, Jay does nothing in half measures, and that’s what makes him different.
It’s that drive for excellence that makes Jay so valuable, his drive and attention to detail are uncommon to say the least. He pushes so hard he makes those around him better at what they are doing. It’s impossible to work alongside Jay and not be affected by his drive and work ethic. Simply put working alongside Jay made me better at what I did, his leadership by example is powerful.
